I was so incredibly wrong. Medium is an incredibly fun platform and provides a dead simple and beautiful interface for making great posts, however, it falls victim to the same fundamental flaws as any other siloed platform, you do not control your traffic or how your content is presented.

Having control of your content, your own domain, your own traffic is too important to allow to fall by the wayside, as tempting as it may be to fall prey to the simple nature of Medium it is a dangerous trap.

However, Medium is a powerful syndication tool thanks to its ability to import posts with strong canonical links to strengthen your SEO.
